You’ve been asking for it so here it is! This is part 1 to Dueling banjos. I go completely through how to play this great tune. Click the video to get started.
This is a more advanced lesson but basic enough that a beginner will learn a lot from it.
Here is one of my favorite tunes, Big Spike Hammer. This banjo lesson will only be available for FREE for a limited time. I’ve always enjoyed watching Ron Block pick this tune.
In this lesson you’ll learn a cool pull-off taking you from the “G” chord to an “E minor”. Then you’ll learn which not to add to lead you from the E to a C. This is a fun lesson. Be prepared to learn a hard driving banjo break.
Watch closely and you’ll learn some powerful banjo playing secrets, like how to bend the 4th string to add flavor to your break.

Shucking the Corn is one of my favorite banjo songs and always will be. I hope you enjoy my version of the B part. Don’t forget to send me a video or two of you playing some tunes for a video critique.
There are several things you should look for when you buy a new banjo. In this lesson we talk about just a few of them, but not all. There is more to come. I’ve also added a few bonus setup tips in this video as well. Enjoy.
This lesson will be locked for member’s only very soon!

Thanks,
Ryan
Morning’ everyone. This video covers some D chord riffs along with one of my favorite little licks.
By the way, if you feel stuck or are having troubles getting started don’t forget to email me. I’ll help you. We can do a little skype lesson or something, but I’m here to help you learn the banjo.
Thanks,
Ryan
I don’t have “D” tuners either but here’s a little trick that you can use to play Earl’s Breakdown. We all like the lessons that show us a trick or shortcut when playing the banjo. This is a cool one! In this video I’ll show you how to get that cool bending sound out of your banjo without touching a tuner!
p.s. If you already have “D” tuners then you can skip this lesson if you want, however this banjo lesson does contain a skill that will make you sound like a pro. Enjoy!
Due to popular request this is the video lesson to our original 50 dollar lick. This lick takes you from high up the neck all the way down to and open G string. This is a great chromatic lick to insert into Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Your fans will love it.
Enjoy

Hello, in this video you’re going to learn two very powerful banjo endings. I’ll even teach you how to pick sideways. I bet you don’t hear this from anyone else. These are the little details that really make you good. Wow, you can’t miss this one. Have a great week!
Hello, here is a great lick that you’ll start at the 17th fret and end up on an open G string. You’re going to really enjoy this one. Have a great day!
Hello, here are 3 powerful licks, all below the fifth fret. Try them out. They will really add to your banjo tunes.
Cripple Creek part 1 coming this week!
Ok, here is a tune in the key of C. In this video I’m going to show you some cool C position licks. Playing the banjo in the key of C can prove to be a real challenge if you’re not familiar with the little C licks that smooth out the position on the fretboard.
We cover two “pinky bends” on the fourth fret and another way to play the fifth fret C plus much, much more. This vid will take a minute to download simply because it goes into some detail, but it’s worth the wait.
I’m going to tag this one as an expert video but I encourage everyone to watch it. We just don’t learn this C chord stuff soon enough as newbie banjo players. Enjoy!
Hello, in this lesson you’ll learn an advanced bend on the 1st string and also learn some ultimate beginner banjo chording techniques. The advanced part is the fist half of the vid and the beginner chording is the second part.
I probably should have split this lesson into two separate weeks but thought you might like a jam packed video with lots of info. Enjoy!
Today we’re going to jump into a fun bluesy lick on the banjo. If you’re an absolute beginner watch the video and see what you think.
I would encourage you to take a stab at it. See if you can get through the notes. If you do, you’ll end up with a really cool lick under your belt.
If you’re an advanced banjo picker this ones for you. I get several requests for bluesy banjo licks so here’s a good one.
Let me know what you think!
Ok, here’s the ending we’ve all been waiting for. You’re really gonna like this one. This is an ending that you can use in many bluegrass songs.
It starts off with a pinch slide and ends with a cool alternative D7 ending.
Let me know what you think of it. Have a great week. Remember, I’ll be posting the tab for this song soon.
