Do I need a Metronome for Practicing Banjo Rolls?

Thanks a bunch, the video’s are a great big help. Do you use or recommend using a metronome for practicing the roll patterns?. Any advise will be very helpful. Your site really does make learning fun. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Matt, I have used a metronome some but not much, mainly when recording in the studio. I have found that playing with other musicians who are better than me helps my timing more than anything.

Using a metronome while practicing banjo rolls will definitely help but playing with good musicians, if possible, is the best answer

This would definitely be my recommendation to someone wanting to improve their timing quickly. Play with a good guitar player! Metronomes are good but no replacement for playing with a good rhythm section.
