Tabs is the way to go I subscribe to other sites too that use tabs and its great you can walk away from the computer, laptop, ipad whatever and practice measure by measure any where. It’s a great site your a great teacher Ryan just keep the tabs coming.
Tabs are a great option. We can still learn by ear, but tabs help clarify some of the tuff areas. Thanks Ryan and keep up the great job.
My advise would be to stop playing the d7 and start playing a “D” chord. just put your index finger on the 2nd fret of 3rd string and your ring finger on the 4th fret of 4th string. This should work much better. Thanks, Ryan

Ryan, Thanks for adding the tab for the last tune. Appreciate it. You do a pretty good job of demonstrating via the video, but sometimes its just tough to see what is happening. It would be nice to see more tab … thanks again for your site and the hard work … later ,Bob Avery

I am a beginner, know very little. Have learned the cords but have trouble with D7. The finger on D7 rubes up againse the next string, causing a dull sound on that string.
Is there aany advise that anyone has on how to prevent this problem?
I am not sure if my computer will download the lesson fast enough. Can I try one lesson to see how it works? If satisfied I will join.

Love the new style of and different ideas on pickin for todays lesson.
I am not a fan of tablature as it lends itself to being more like a machine and learning something exactly as someone else may have improvised it. Tablature along with syncopation and feel are what make different players sound like different players.
I like to see and hear different approaches to the same song. Lets face it, Sammy don’t play Fireball mail like Earl and that is fantastic.
For your beginners it might be a welcome idea so they can kinda get the idea of what you should do and where but for me, and I realize I’m just one guy, I don’t care for it and never use it. Love improvisation.

I have been playing (with) the banjo on and off for over 30 years and I do everything wrong. I am impressed with your style of teaching and I am thinking of signing up for your lessons. At my age (69) things do not happen very fast but I still have good agility in my hands and I enjoy playing the banjo and mandolin. My biggest disappointment is I have no one to play with since my two sons , guitar players, moved away. Is the lifetime membership any less expensive when you’re as old as I am?
