I have a 1967 Gibson Mastertone copy. There are no serial numbers to this instrument. This banjo was assembled in 1967 by a local Gibson luthier in Monroe, LA who passed around 8 years ago. From speaking with his daughter, I learned that during this period, the Gibson’s weren’t sounding as they do today and people like this luthier were assembling their own banjos. It has Scrugg’s tuners, a Sosebee bridge and vintage head. I added the head and the bridge. I have the head that came with the banjo. This was my personal banjo for the first four years of my playing. If interested, I can provide pictures as well. I am asking $1300.00 for this instrument.
