How to Formulate a Banjo Break Quickly!

by Ryan on September 13, 2009

in Beginner Lessons

This video covers how to create a banjo break on the fly. This is a real art that every banjo player needs to master. It’s quite often that you will have to kick off a banjo tune in a jam session if you get out to many festivals or just do some jamming with the neighbors.

In this video we cover how to hear the melody and translate it to your banjo, how to start and end your break, and a little secret to hearing the chord changes.

Just for your info, this is my favorite lesson yet!

Enjoy,
Ryan

Just joined as a lifetime member. Very much an older (79) beginner and plan to visit all your older lessons in my effort to becoming a banjo player. QUESTION. For how long are the older lessons accessible?
