How to Play Your Banjo in the Key of “C”

August 31st, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Ok, here is a tune in the key of C. In this video I’m going to show you some cool C position licks. Playing the banjo in the key of C can prove to be a real challenge if you’re not familiar with the little C licks that smooth out the position on the fretboard.

We cover two “pinky bends” on the fourth fret and another way to play the fifth fret C plus much, much more. This vid will take a minute to download simply because it goes into some detail, but it’s worth the wait.

I’m going to tag this one as an expert video but I encourage everyone to watch it. We just don’t learn this C chord stuff soon enough as newbie banjo players. Enjoy!

    Hi Ryan,
The name of the C tune is “Sweet Sunny South”. I think AP Carter wrote it. Tony Rice and I think
Tim O’Brien recorded it. Good tune I had for got about it.

    Thanks,
    Steve
