Very impressed with your web site . Am I correct in thinking that i only need to pay 47 dollars for a lifetime access to your lessons etc. Would I have to pay another monthly subscription ? It just seems very good value for money . Are there any hidden extras?

Firstly, congrats on the birth of Brody.
Secondly, I have recently bought a 5 string banjo & really would like to learn to play ‘properly’. Where do you recommend I start? I’ve been playing guitar for a number of years (badly, lol) & thought i’d try out the banjo.

Downloading your lessons: I think I figured it out. Some are flv format, so left click on the download link starts the lesson playing, and Real Player Add On provides download video option when mouse hovers over video. However, if you did a lesson in wmv, then the left click plays it but won’t download it. You have to right click the download link and select “save target as” and then it will download to your pc. All one file format would probably be helpful if possible to do on your end. Keep up the great work.

When you open a lesson (blog post) and you are officially logged in and able to watch the video what you will need to do is to right click on the download link and then click “save-as” and save it to your computer. Hi Ryan: Just became premium member a few days ago and think your site is terrific. Learning many new things. Basically a novice I would say. But it seems I am able do download certain member only lessons like the Shucking the Corn, but there are others that just start to play (dchordriffs for example) when I click the download link, but I can’t figure out how to create the download while it’s playing in media player. I have looked all thru the menu but just don’t see a download option while playing.

If you have an idea, please reply. Thanks.

Just signed up for your course etc and how much would a good banjo to invest in and where to get it? I feel a good quality banjo would be easier to fret and the feel of a good banjo,the neck etc is necessary? for student or non-professional desire but one that would have good to better quality? could you list some? $300.00 and some dollar range. I know there are expensive ones? in any instrument? if you can recommend? JT Thank’s you

The prices are really true! You get the exact same privileges but you can chose to pay monthly if you wish. It’s your choice.

Hi Ryan: I am a new lifetime member. I would consider myself a medium level player. I play a Huber Lexington and I also have a Stelling Red Fox that is for sale.
I have viewed a number of your video’s and they look great. I’m looking forward to setting up skype and getting setup with the upstream videos.
My favorite all time break is by Jack Hicks on the Bean Blossom (73) album.The song is Roll On Buddy by Bill and James Monroe. The break is melodic. chromatic. Would it be possible to learn the ascending and descending licks on this break. It seems to be so busy I get lost in the first ascending lick. Any help would be appreciated. I could send you an Mp3 of the song if you haven’t heard or don’t have it.
You are doing a great job with the site.

Yes, I’ve created the site to peak the interest of students at all levels. This isn’t always easy but I try to sprinkle a little bit for everyone throughout all of the lessons. Thomas, I’m trying to get a good understanding of your questions. Are you asking how to play a chord with your left hand on the neck of the banjo? I’m not sure if you’re identifying the strings as the tab is asking you to do. Give me a little more detail or email the piece of tab that’s giving you trouble and I’ll help you fix it. Thanks, Ryan
