Rolls and Chords for Beginning Bluegrass Banjo Players

August 28th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

In this video you’ll learn how to play the three main rolls of the 5 string bluegrass banjo. You’ll also get a introduction to the G, C, D, and F chords. If you watch closely you might pick up a few chording licks near the end of the video! This video is now a Member’s Only video.

    Hi,
I’m about to take a leap and join. I’d like to learn Clinch Mt. Backstep. Most interesting version I’ve head on YouTube is by Opal Creek.

It certainly is possible; however, I will ask if anyone on the site already has this tab. If you are reading this and have this tab available please respond to Randy or myself. Thanks, Ryan

There is a lesson that I would love to try; if it were posible to tab out a simple form of John Hartmans “Over the Mountian”. I’ve only seen one version of Over the Mountian at Banjo news, but it was to complex for me. Is it posible?

    Thanks
    Randy

Ron, I’ll keep that in mind but I usually teach 99% bluegrass. If you have a specific request let me know and maybe we can work something out. I do like to play some gospel stuff as well!
